Nadla

Nadlacka – Local Slovak Gastronomic Specialty in Stara Pazova

In 2022, a specialized shop named “Nadla” opened in Stara Pazova, focusing on making traditional “nadlacki,” a local Slovak specialty of Pazova. Slovaks brought this recipe from Slovakia 250 years ago when they settled in Stara Pazova. The secret lies in the fact that exclusively local ingredients are used for making this delicacy. It is made from sour-base dough steamed to perfection, airy and soft yet crispy at the bottom. Once baked, it’s sprinkled with poppy seeds or walnuts mixed with sugar, while the savoury variant features local cheese. In addition to these traditional options, modernized nadlacki offer various flavours and additions such as Gouda cheese, ham, dry aged sirloin, tomatoes, arugula, “tobacco” pork scratchings, jam, hazelnut nougat cream, biscuits, caramel, mayonnaise, ketchup, sour cream, tartar, pistachio cream, etc. Thanks to young enthusiasts and food lovers, the idea to offer nadlacki to tourists and those seeking to enjoy a healthy, old-fashioned, and delicious recipe was born.
